How Do I Put This …

*Head Hitting Desk*

Yesterday, Senator Ensign (R-Nevada) admitted to having an affair with one of his campaign staffers (who was apparently married to another one of his campaign staffers), cheating on his wife and wrecking his marriage.**

A senator who is against same-sex marriage, citing the sanctity and importance of marriage.

A senator who called for the resignation of President Bill Clinton because of his affair.

Honestly. How do you expect those of us to the left to take you seriously and respect your opinions on marriage when you can’t even practice what you preach??

It REALLY doesn’t help your case.

**Update:  Apparently him and his wife went to counseling, and everything is fine and peachy keen now.

It is because most people are fundamentally dumb. Really, it is the moral to every story: People are dumb.

He just proves the point with alarming skill!

I’d describe myself as a right-leaning independent. I’m open to all opinions, but my personal viewpoints and values tend to lean right.

With that being said, I absolutely, 110% agree with your comments on this latest scandal. How can anyone try to make a legitimate case for sanctity of marriage when they don’t practice what they preach? This guy is a hypocrite and is exactly what is wrong with the right these days.

I ditto this…I also thought that it was pretty amusing that among the Republican candidates running for president only the “scary weird” possibly polygamist Morman (I am saying this tongue in cheek, I really like Romney…plus he had great hair…;-) ) was still married to the same woman. It NEVER sat right with me that McCain left the woman who waited for him for 7 years while he was a POW and thought she was fat and ugly when he came back from Vietnam, because she had been in a car accident…yucky. Politicians very often seem to be: “do as I say, not as I do.” With very little exception.

Tracey & CaliValleyGirl, thanks for your comments.

I agree with both of you 100% And it’s not me trying to attack the Republicans, whether I agree with them or not. I would be disapointed if somebody on the left did this as well.

You HAVE to practice what you preach, especially if you are in the public eye. I don’t like the do as I say, not as I do approach, and it your credibility takes a major hit (in my opinion) when you do that.

Thanks for commenting, ladies :)
