If you are a photographer, or love to cook, then you are familiar with The Pioneer Woman. She gets something like 40 million hits to her site every month, which is crazy. Basically … she’s awesome. And if you don’t check out her site, you MUST — because she has something for everybody!
One of the reasons I love her is because of her photography skills. Tucker introduced her to me way back when, and I’ve been hooked ever since [see? I told you I would give you credit! ha!] I love her photoshop actions, and use them frequently in most of my photography. I learned how to REALLY use my DSLR through her site. I think she is a GOD!
Maybe not a God, but really, really awesome none the less!
What’s the point of all of this you ask? Well, every once in a while, in her photography section, she does these assignments. Take a photo of this, take a photo of this, do this with your camera and take a picture, etc. Anybody who wants to submit a photo does so through her flickr group, and then she picks her favorites, and sometimes a winner.
I submit photos every single time!
And this time I was a favorite!!!
I was SHOCKED to be scrolling through her group two of Kitty submissions to see my photo there [one that's been posted here before]. Seriously, people — it’s kind of like being nominated for on Oscar in my books. That’s how it feels!
I realize that this is silly, but — people are OBSESSED with her site! Because she so stinkin’ rad [and her food is waaaaaaaay good!!!!] so this little thing, totally made my day yesterday.
Anyways … bragging done! EXCITING, people! Exciting

How exciting…I totally understand your excitement. For those who don’t know Pioneer Women is right up there with the Dooce’s and Classy Mommy’s of blogging so wow to be on her blog is like be an Oscar Nominee lol…funny but true!

I seriously learned everything about using my camera on manual setting through her tutorials. I sat down, read them all, took notes, and carried those little tiny notes around with me so if I wanted to do something, but forgot what a certain thing did, I whipped it out and consulted. She’s the bomb.
And I am SO GLAD that you are learning a ton!! Hooray!!!! Your pictures have been fantastically awesomesauce and I can’t wait to see more!
Congrats! I love her food and photography sections. It’s an honor to have a picture on anyone’s site, but to be on PW’s…..you’re right, it is like winning an Oscar.
