This week’s You Capture assignment was work. Because I sit in an office/at a computer all day, I decided to focus on the things that surround me while I am literally “at work.” I’m sure this could have been taken a million different ways, but I’m a career gal! So you get to look at what I see every day!
Oh sweet, glorious cup of coffee. This is how I start my day every single morning. Without it, I am a slug. I’m a Seattle girl, remember? Life without coffee is not a life worth living.
This little guy is Bill. He is an African Dwarf frog and they reside in a tank on my book shelf. These little guys like to live under water, and only go up for air when they need to. Bill greets me every single morning when I come into my office and flick on the lights. Frog Two, Hillary, likes to stay hidden. And yes — I named my frogs after the Clintons. I LOVE THEM THAT MUCH.
This is my mouse. And my phone. And part of my keyboard. I don’t particularly like the color of this photo, but I couldn’t get it to really do anything else that I wanted it to. So alas … this is what you get. Sorry, Internet.
I have this thing about keeping old text books from college & grad school. I can’t help it. However, on more than one occasion I have crawled down here and picked one of these up for reference to some project I am working on.

What a fun peek at your work demesne.
I still have nearly every textbook I acquired over four years of undergrad; I couldn’t bear to part with them at the end of the semester (especially since the buyback offers were damn near insulting).
Your pictures make me want to drink coffee and work in an office… and I don’t really like either of those things!
ha! thanks girl
These are great photos!! And I LOVE that you named your frogs after the Clintons. That’s awesome. ::sigh:: I miss them sometimes.
another clinton-loving milspouse, hooray!
great photos.
Hell yeah!
I would name my frogs after the Clintons, too! That made me smile. And whatever you’re snacking on next to those books looks like it could be awfully good…..
It’s the Archer Farms cashew, cranberry and almond blend trail mix. TARGET!
Super yummy!!
You’re absolutely right about life without coffee!
Great photos of your work…love the pic of your little frog
Love the frog names! The photo of Bill is great. I bet he’s a hard one to photograph!
The coloring of the phone photo reminded me of the images that Microsoft has in their programs. Not sure why…
I love what you did here!
