In the past couple of months, I’ve picked up a new hobby.
Knitting!
I know, I know, before you roll your eyes, it’s not as grandma-ish as you think! I started doing it because our crack peddler of the playground, Lopsidedmom, insisted. Ok not insisted, but she didn’t give up until just about every single one of us started.
And let me tell you, I am ADDICTED! Way to go playground pusher!! I seriously can’t stop.
I tried to pick up knitting when I was in grad school, but I sort of didn’t have a feel for it. I wasn’t a fan. I’m not sure what sparked my interest so much this time — maybe it was the fact that I sit at home every night by myself. I might as well be productive, right?? And holy hannah, its relaxing.
But I am sadly to the point where I can’t wait to get home at night and pick up my needles. I am currently working on three different projects, including this yummy scarf, which I can’t wait to wear:
I’m in love. And I can’t wait to make blankets, and hats, and wonderful fingerless gloves because I LOVE fingerless gloves! And maybe, someday, I’ll even venture out and make a sweater. My options are so plentiful!
But seriously. You should start knitting, too. All the cool kids are doing it. And if you’re on Ravelry? My name is “iwannaknit2″ (if you were cool, you would know what Ravelry was!)

I want to learn to knit only because I want to make socks. I know how to crochet and made fingerless gloves a few times!
